Commissions

A Commission is a body provided for by the Unicameral Board (Elders/Trustees) of the Church to oversee a particular part of the Church's life and ministry. Each Commission will have the authority to carry out the goals established by the Unicameral Board, and will regularly report its decisions and actions to that Board.

Each Commission will have a goal of 12 members.  An Elder/Trustee will chair each Commission, and there will be additional Elder/Trustees serving on each Commission.  The Moderator of Session and the President of the Board of Trustees will assign members of the Unicameral Board to serve as chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of each Commission.  The vice-chairperson will act as Secretary of the Commission.

A Commissioner's term of two years is renewable once on that same Commission before that person must retire from office for at least a year or having served as Elder/Trustee.
