First Fruits Offering

On Sunday, November 22, we will receive the first offering connected to this season. This First Fruit Offering is rooted in a biblical practice described in Leviticus 2, where God’s people brought the first and best of what they had as an expression of gratitude and trust. For those who are able, this offering provides an opportunity to begin fulfilling a commitment in a tangible way. A First Fruit Offering envelope will be available. If you are unable to be present in worship that Sunday, you are welcome to mail or drop off your gift at the church office. Some households may also choose to give through non-cash gifts, such as stock or other gifts-in-kind. For more information contact Kevin Trolaro, 732-491-2303,

Creative Giving

Gifts Other Than Cash

Gifts other than cash allow individuals to support the church through assets such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate, vehicles, jewelry, and other personal property. Donating appreciated assets held for more than one year may offer significant tax advantages while helping the church further its mission.

When assets are donated directly to the church, donors may be able to avoid capital gains taxes they would otherwise owe if they sold the assets themselves. Depending on the type of gift and the donor’s circumstances, the contribution may also qualify for a charitable tax deduction based on the asset’s fair market value. The church can then sell the donated asset and use the proceeds to support its ministries and mission.

By giving assets directly rather than selling them and donating the cash, donors may reduce their tax liability and potentially make a greater impact through their generosity. Donors should consult a qualified tax or financial professional to understand the benefits and requirements of their individual gift.
